AEM SOW

Due to concerns over the potential of flow induced piping vibrations within a subsea manifold, AEM was engaged to conduct vibration ‘bump’ tests to determine the natural frequency of specific sections of the production manifold pipework, and to compare the field test results against Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis. From the field testing and data analysis, it can be determined whether the piping system might be susceptible to vibrations/pulsations during future operations.
The hammer/bump field test is a vibration test to obtain the Frequency Response Function by applying impact loads using a special hammer and recording the response using accelerometers.
