HDD Pipeline Design Verification
Due to expansion of HK International Airport twin DN500 aviation fuel pipelines were built using HDD technique through bedrock under sea to replace existing lines. AAHK has requested a design verification of the twin pipelines and the adjoining sections of onshore pipelines.
Verification comprised :
- Stress analysis of the HDD pipelines
- Process analysis of the surge pressure due to inadvertently valve closure
